The Beer Diaries Chapter 7: Blueberry Red Ale

My version of Brooklyn Brew Shop’s Blackberry Red Ale came out pretty decent.   Some of my taste testers, who are familiar with Boston Beer Work’s Blueberry Ale, which is served with a few spoonfulls of little blueberries in syrup into the beer, were expecting a stronger blueberry flavor, I think.   My end result was a nice refreshing ale with subtle but present blueberry flavors that were definitely not overpowering.

I would probably brew this beer again, and might even up the blueberry content.

The original brewing post is here, and the Hopville recipe is here.
