The 50 Best Photos From the Natural World

Boston.com has its annual portfolio of the 50 best photos from the natural world in 2011 up on their website.   Even better, it’s not a slideshow where you have to click through 50 times – if you wait for the page to load, you can just scroll down through the pictures – and there are some awesome ones.

Some of the pictures reminded me of recent pictures I’d seen, or even pictures I’d taken.   For example, just yesterday Marginal Revolution had a post about dyeing dogs in China.  Boston.com’s Tiger picture:

reminded me of both the awesome TigerDog from the MR post:

and also of a picture I’d taken of Oscar and Griffey this summer, with Oscar’s tongue flicking out:

This picture of a sleeping lion:

brought to mind my own sleeping beast: the O-dog:

Finally,

this panda photo

was like deja-vu after the Marginal Revolution link yesterday to Chinese Panda-Dogs:

Aside, I thought the coolest photo from Boston.com’s collection was this one of a hawk grabbing a bunny:
