Max & Gizmo

After surviving our brief stay with foster puppy Verdell,  Mrs. Dynamite and I swore we’d take some time off until after the New Year before fostering more dogs.  It’s been a good year, with Benny, Nikko, and Verdell all successfully fostered and placed in forever-homes.

Unfortunately, the needs of foster dogs don’t depend on the holiday calendar, and there were two pooches in desperate need of a foster home:  litter-mates Max & Gizmo.   Max and Gizmo had been boarded by their owner, who supposedly had some issue with them and her new housing situation.   The boarder horribly neglected the dogs, keeping them in a crate, which resulted in Max suffering a massive flea infestation.   While the fleas were treated before the dogs came into our house, Max had a horrible allergic reaction to the bites, with scabs all over his body.  He healed up quickly, however,  and is loving the new environment here in our house.

Max and Gizmo are hilarious.   They compete for a spot in my lap while I watch TV, and Gizmo uses his belly as a weapon when he wants to play – throwing himself at you while simultaneously flopping onto his back.   Not only did we violate our “we need a break from fostering” rule, we also violated our “no more than 3 dogs” rule – but Max & Gizmo are worth it.   On to the pictures:
